ZAB’s anniversary: foolproof security to be provided

LARKANA: The authorities on Thursday decided to provide foolproof security arrangements for the 38th death anniversary commemoration of PPP founder Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZAB), to be celebrated on April 4, in Garhi Khuda Bux, Naundero.

In this connection, a high-level meeting was held at Garhi Khuda Bux which was presided over by Commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch. It was also attended by DIG Abdullah Shaikh and other related officers of various departments.

DIG Shaikh informed the meeting that every year, 30 walkthrough gates are installed but this time, their number has been increased to 40, adding 40 searching teams will also be deployed.

He further said that CCTV cameras will be installed in large numbers in and around the mausoleum to monitor the situation constantly. He said IGP Sindh had been approached to enhance the number of security personnel in view of the security threats. He said one parking area will be established two kilometres away from the mausoleum, where all vehicles will be parked.

The commissioner directed all departmental heads to complete all required arrangements two days before the event and submit a detailed report to him in writing. Baloch directed the SEPCO officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Garhi Khuda Bux, Naundero and all its adjoining areas during the event so that devotees should feel free to attend the gathering.

 

He further asked them to erect hand pumps and establish drinking water facilities on all roads leading to the final resting place of Bhutto leaders so that the incoming admirers of the leaders should not feel any difficulty.

He also directed DC Kashif Ali and Larkana Mayor Aslam Shaikh to ensure cleanliness and lightening in Larkana and around. Baloch further directed that foolproof security must also be provided to PPP-SB public gathering which always remains neglected.

District Council Chairman Khan Muhammad Sanghroo, Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Aijaz Laghari, Ghulam Mustafa Laghari, AD Bhutto and others participated in the meeting.
