The statistics department has revealed the questions that will be asked for the national census, and a helpline number has been issued for the benefit of citizens after the second day of the ongoing national census concluded yesterday.
Statistics Department Chief Asif Bajwa told the media that during the census, a set of 12 questions will be asked by the officials and that people facing any issues can contact the helpline at 080057574.
Bajwa also said that for the purposes of the census 168,000 divisions had been made and that each division contains 200-250 houses each.
City dwellers can expect two different set of questions from the officials who will be collecting data regarding both population and housing. The population census will contain questions regarding nationality, occupation, the existence of national identification, gender, age, marital status, mother tongue, hometown, and the level of education.
On the other hand, the household census will have questions regarding whether the residence is owned or rented, relation to head of the household, whether anyone has been out of the country for more than six months. Other questions to be expected are regarding the presence of modern technology—whether the house has a radio, television set, phones, and computers, etc. Questions regarding the house itself will also be asked, including the number of rooms, washrooms, when the house was built and what material was used for its construction.
