PEC directs to boost women voters’ registration process

UMERKOT: The Provincial Election Commissioner Tanveer Zaki on Thursday directed all the officers concerned to increase female voters’ registration process so that maximum female voter registration target could be achieved.

This he said while presiding over a meeting of District Voters Education Committee, in which the District Election Commissioner Ahmed Ali Abbassi, Additional Deputy Commissioner I Subhash Chandar, in charge NADRA Noor Muhammad Bhanbhro and other officers also present.

Tanveer Zaki said that seminars, workshops and other public service programmes should be organised to educate the female population regarding the importance of their votes and motivate them to get their CNIC’s without any delay.

The provincial election commissioner also directed the district election commissioner to provide him with a complete list of members of the District Voters Education Committee, bearing their designations and cell phone numbers in order to maintain coordination among them for achieving the desired results.

On the occasion, Ahmed Ali Abbassi also briefed the provincial election commissioner about the working of District Voter Education Committee.
