KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja on Thursday reviewed the up gradation steps taken in driving license branch and directed the officials concerned to streamline the issuance of learning driving licenses in the metropolis.
Additional IGP, DIG headquarters, Additional IG Special Branch and other senior police officials attended the meeting.
DIG Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh briefed the meeting and said that Sindh government had decided to give 30 per cent of driving license fee amount directly to DL branch. He informed that CM Murad Ali Shah had already approved this proposal. Shaikh further briefed that this money will be use for the welfare of the staff and the development of DL branch.
On this occasion, IGP formed different committees comprising high police officials for the transparent implementation of the plan. “A standard operating procedure (SOP) must also be prepared to ensure that driving license issuance process is streamlined on a strong and efficient basis,” said the police chief. Khawaja further directed that system should be also connected with the NADRA to help prevent the issuance of driving licenses to the criminal elements.
