China says no change in its policy on Kashmir issue

BEIJING: China, while showing its concern over Indo-Pak tensions, said Wednesday that Beijing’s policy on the Kashmir issue has not changed.

According to media reports, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, while talking to journalists here, said both Pakistan and India should accelerate the pace of talks on the Kashmir issue.

“Both countries should avoid any interference by respecting sovereignty of each other,” he said, adding, “We want to see borders of both the countries secure. Both should perceive this fact that the Kashmir issue is holding peace of the region hostage.”
