ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan strongly reacted to the government’s threats of trying him under cyber crime and defamation laws, and vowed that PTI will not be deterred by such threats and will oppose all efforts to undermine.

PTI chairman in his series of tweets strongly condemned that Pakistan Muslim League-N’s (PML-N) government’s efforts to establish Nawaz Sharif’s monarchy by threatening political opponents through misuse of law.

Addressing a joint press conference the other day, Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb and the ruling PML-N’s MNA Daniyal Aziz said the government has decided to take action against PTI Chairman Imran Khan under cyber crime and defamation laws for what its representatives describe as trying to influence the Supreme Court’s judgement in the Panama Papers case and tarnish the reputation of the prime minister by levelling false allegations against him through electronic, print and social media.

Taking strong notice of it, Chairman PTI tweeted, “PTI will stand by our free media, our vibrant civil society and for the assertion of all our people’s fundamental constitutional rights.”

Chairman PTI went on to say that the PML-N misused the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) during our anti-rigging dharna levelling terrorist charges in FIRs against them and now threatening him with cyber crime law.
