Patients are facing difficulties due to non-availability of MRI machine facility in Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi.
According to reports, MRI machine which was purchased ten years back had gone out of order after one year of installation due to lack of proper maintenance.
Because of lack of this machine, the patients are forced to pay Rs 5-12 thousand to private clinics for undergoing tests.
Sometimes due to unavailability of MRI the doctors have to do CT-Scan whose radiations cause fatal effects to patients health.
The availability of MRI machine in private clinics sounds that acquisition of this machine is not next to impossible for hospital administration. .
Commission mafia is stated to be main cause behind non availability of this facility in the hospital. Hospital spokesperson said that MRI machine will be installed soon in the part of the hospital building which is being constructed and the test facility shall be made available free of cost to the patients.
