High-scale police search operations yielding no results

The Islamabad Police have failed to nab any terrorist or any high profile criminal while they detain suspects during the search operations who fail to show their identity cards, registration books of motor-bikes and cars at check posts.

In March alone, the Islamabad Police along with Special Investigation Unit conducted twelve search operations in different areas of the capital in which they searched 560 houses and held 89 suspects. However, most of them got bail the very next day after being arrested.

Suspects include a fake policeman, car thieves, and drug-traffickers.

“Almost at the end of every month, the Islamabad Police in order to fill up the plain files pretended to improve monthly performance report by impounding vehicles,” said a resident of Islamabad, Mujahid Hussain Chandio.

In different operations conducted by Islamabad Police along with Special Investigation Unit, Homicide Unit of Islamabad Police have arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in stabbing 19-year old person to death and injuring three others.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police has busted an organized gang involved in snatching mobile phones and handbags from women at gunpoint.

Industrial Area police have nabbed a person involved in looting simpletons by impersonating as a policeman.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) nabbed two car lifters and recovered 2320 gram hashish from their possession.

The police arrested three proclaimed offenders wanted by the police in murder, kidnapping and dacoity cases.

The police arrested five proclaimed offenders who were wanted various cases.

The police along with Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies in an operation in Tarnol area arrested 14 suspects including an Afghan national.

The police also arrested ten outlaws including six proclaimed offenders wanted in crime cases.

The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) nabbed three car-lifters and recovered two stolen vehicles as well, said the police.

The Islamabad Police along with Rangers conducted search operation in different areas of city and nabbed 30 suspects on Sunday. When contacted, SSP Operation was not available for comments.
