Extension of military courts imperative to fight terrorism: Finance Minister Dar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the extension of military courts for the period of two years is imperative to address the issue of terrorism in the country.

In an interview, he said the government is working on a roadmap to upscale National Action Plan and judicial reforms to prepare a parallel system before ending the period of military courts.

Dar said it is a national issue which will be resolved by consensus of all political parties.

He also said that the electoral reforms will be made before next general elections.

Pakistan is going to sign an agreement with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development which will help control tax evasion, said Dar.

He said Pakistan’s economic position is improving and it will soon enter into the group of G-20 countries.
