Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a ceremony on Wednesday held at the Aiwan-e-Iqbal in connection with the Women’s International Day. He mentioned the steps taken by the government to empower women and highlighted the importance of women’s rights.
He invited three girls from Daanish School, Hasalpur who had won an international competition held in the US to the stage and said that these girl students were the real face of Pakistan, admiring their intellect and competence.
The chief minister also invited to the stage Dr Khadija who had received financial support from the Punjab Education Endowment Fund for studying medicine. A resident of Okara, Dr Khudeja thanked the chief minister because she could not have become a doctor if she had not been supported by the PEEF.
The chief minister said that the state was responsible for providing education and health facilities to its citizens.
