FEDERALLY Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) holds an immense strategic importance for Pakistan. FATA was considered as a buffer zone and have been functioned under Frontier Crimes Regulation in pre and post partition. Unfortunately, FATA have sacrificed a lot in fight against terrorism. However, the fate of FATA is going to be changed since PML (N) government has made a decision to merge FATA into KP. The concerned government authorities should come up with effective policies and immediate developmental projects for FATA. Most importantly, FATA should be given a three percent share in National Finance Commission and judiciary system must be extended to FATA. Also, FATA populace should be permitted to elect their representative for the provincial assembly of KP, in the upcoming election of 2018. Thus, it is high time; the government must implement its decision as soon as possible and bring FATA in mainstream.
