ALTHOUGH, child labour is prohibited by the constitution of Pakistan and labour laws yet it is prevalent in Pakistan. Many children are suffering from mental, physical, moral and social harm while government has chosen to remain oblivious to the situation. According to National Child Labour Survey (NLSC), approximately 3.3 million children including 73% boys and 27% girls below the age of 14 are chained to child labour. The issue cannot be catered until and unless, the laws are not strictly implemented and regulated simultaneously. Moreover, children access to education is an evident strategy for elimination of child labour. The concerned authorities must come up with effective policies in order to provide protection against child labour.
