These views were expressed by Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Federal Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb in a press release issued here on Saturday.
While commenting on the PSL final, she said that no matter who wins or lose on the field the love of the game and country have always been inextricably linked.
She said, “Cricket, for the country has held a strong emotional significance. We have celebrated, on an international platform, with joy and pride our countless victories and our cricketing heroes, lamented and debated our losses”.
The minister said that despite the recent terror attacks the nation was determined and tickets for the final were sold out in no time, she added.
She further stated that the government was of a view that the decision of holding the match in the country would give a strong message to terrorists.
