Jirga settles 23 years old murder case in Naudero

NAUDERO: A grand jirga was held at Shahdadkot to decide a murder case of one person who was killed some 23 years ago.

The jirga case was decided by Nadir Magsi late on Friday night. In 1994 four people were gunned down in Pir Jo Goth village, located near Naudero, in a robbery attempt at a shop. Those who were killed included Abdul Haleem Morio, Rasul Bux Shaikh, Murad Ali Khokhar and Maula Bux Kookari whereas Ghulam Murtaza Kalhoro was injured.

The jirga was held to decide the murder case of Haleem Morio and injury of Ghulam Murtaza Kalhoro only.

Accused party of Muhammad Sachal Tunio was fined Rs 2.6 million out of which Rs1.8 million was compensation for the murder of Morio and Rs 0.8 million in compensation for injured Kalhoro.

Accused Sachal Tunio is serving a life sentence in the prison; his relatives participated in the jirga. The accused party will pay the amount in three instalments. The decision of the jirga was accepted by both the parties.
