The additional district and sessions judge on Saturday awarded death sentence to spouses for abducting and murdering a minor child.
Shakir alias Shakeel and his wife Sakina alias Safeena were found guilty of kidnapping the son and niece, aged six and five years respectively, of their employer in 2013.
The six-year-old boy was later killed by the couple, whereas a girl was sexually assaulted by Shakir, the prosecution maintained. The couple had kidnapped the children of their employer Marvez Khan in May 2013 and later they murdered the boy in Shah Faisal Colony.
The additional district and sessions judge East, Mohammad Ahsan Khan Durrani, directed the convicts to pay a compensation of Rs100, 000 each to the legal heirs of deceased. The judge also sentenced Shakir to life imprisonment for subjecting the minor girl to sexual assault. He would also pay a fine of Rs50, 000.
