Further investigation into the allocation of thousands of acres of land to the Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers by the party before dividing into MQM-Pakistan and MQM-London, has revealed that the workers were awarded plots with fake documents, Pakistan Today learnt.
It was revealed during the investigation, carried out by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), into the allocation of thousands of acres of land of New Karachi and Surjani Town.
“Due to non-cooperative attitude of the occupants, this case has lost momentum and the effort made to retrieve grabbed precious land seems to be fruitless,” the sources in the NAB claimed.
This scam was unearthed when the paramilitary Rangers took over the Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) London Coordination Committee member Muhammad Anwar brother Muhammad Ehsan alias Chonno Mamo right-hand-man Faisal Masroor Siddiqui in April 2015.
Siddiqui before Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) claimed that he along with Mamo had managed to grab almost 5,000 plots in Surjani Town and New Karachi areas to finance MQM activities in Karachi.
During the investigations, the allottees claimed that they got files of the plots with maps approved by the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), but they don’t know that how these files were made and who played role in preparation of these files.
