The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by its members and respective administrative secretaries. The forum considered 30 projects pertaining to different sectors including higher education, sports & tourism, population welfare, agriculture, food, multi-sector development, roads, DWSS, urban development and transport sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 22 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 7794.221 millions.
Eight projects were deferred due to inadequate designs/strategies which were returned to the respective departments for rectification and improvement.
In the higher education sector, approved projects were “establishment of women university in Mardan, construction of academic block in GIK Institute of Engineering”.
Only approved project of elementary and secondary education sector was “Kalam Area Integrated Development Project”.
Only approved project of health sector was “Strengthening of the Rehabilitation Services for Physically Disabled at Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
Approved projects of agriculture sector were “Genetic Improvement of Local Goats through Cross Breeding with Saanen Goat in Malakand Region, Development of Farm Fisheries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
In the food sector only approved project was “Automation of Food Department”.
Only approved project of multi-sector development sector was “Governance and Policy Reforms Programme (MDTF Assisted)”.
Approved projects of roads sector were “Feasibility Study for Project Preparatory and Technical Assistance for Provincial road Rehabilitation Project (ADB Assisted), F/S and Construction of 9 Km Circular Road, PK-64, DI Khan, FS Design, improvement & widening of Road from Akora Khattak to Manai- Dooran-Tarkhel i/c link from Shahab Khel to Guldheri, Sawarkhel-Pitao to Kaka Sahib Eidgah, Khwar Miangan to Khawryan via Bagh Gali to Bus Adda, Kaka Sahib, Nowshera, Construction of drain, pavement of streets and internal roads of UCs Pabbi, Khan Sher Garhi, Chowki Mumraz, Akbar Pura & Taru Distt Nowshera, Const of internal road in UCs Dagai-Banda Nabi, Pirpiai, Badrashi, Azakhel Bala & Payan, District Nowshera (Phase-II), Construction of drains, pavement of streets and internal roads of Dak Ismail Khel, Shah Kot, Dak Besud, Balu, Spin Khak and Jalozai Distt Nowhsera, emergent nature works in roads (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), provision for Rehabilitation of flood/torrential affected roads & bridges (SDG)”.
In public health engineering sector approved projects were “Provision for rehabilitation of disaster affected water supply scheme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. (SDG), water supply and sanitation schemes and distribution works in Tehsil Tangi District Charsadda.
Approved projects of urban development sector were “Improvement/Widening and Dualization of Road No. 1 Peshawar University, F/S Designing for widening & improvement of Shandoor Chitral Road”.
Only approved project of Transport sector was “PC-II for hiring of consultant/railwau expert for KPK circular Railway”.
