MIRPUR: Insufficient number of lower civil courts in various parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is causing an inordinate delay in delivery of justice to litigants.
This was stated by the former Chief Justice AJK Justice (retired) Azam Khan in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Addressing a farewell reception by citizens of his native city after his recent retirement, Justice (retired) said mutual cooperation among the bench, bar and the litigants was imperative for dispensation of speedy and inexpensive justice.
Noting that the bench and bar are part and parcel of the process of dispensing justice, he said that the bench and bar would have to go the extra mile to ensure quick disposal of pending cases and ensure justice in letter and spirit.
Justice (retired) Azam further advised the public to ensure their maximum participation and role in giving a renewed impetus to the struggle for the right of self-determination of Kashmiris.
