THE Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) is the most anticipated annual cultural event in the provincial capital. A huge crowd was observed at the event despite it having been revised to a single day due to security reasons. It features eminent artists, thinkers and opinion makers from home and abroad in thought provoking discussions. Such festivals and events are the need of the hour as it is only through art, literature, and cultural exchanges that the prevailing violence, terrorism and intolerance can be subdued. Apart from it, they may also serve as a platform which portrays a positive image of Pakistan in the comity of nations. In this context, all praises are for the organisers of LLF for arranging such an event. Besides, the civil society along with the government should also strive to organise such events on regular basis to promote peace and harmony among individuals of all societies.
