KARACHI: Two cabin crew members sustained injuries on Tuesday as a Karachi-bound international shook due to air pocket.

According to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, Air Arabia’s flight number 9545 came into an air pocket and started shaking due to which bags in luggage holder dropped on the passengers causing wounds.

However, Air Arabia spokesperson said, “Air Arabia can confirm that flight number G9545 departed Sharjah International Airport at ‘12:55’ (Local Time) to Karachi on February 28, 2017, encountered severe clear air turbulence during its descent into Karachi International Airport.”

“The flight landed safely with all passengers on board at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at ’15:32′ (Local Time).”

“As a result of the impact of the air turbulence, two members of our cabin crew sustained minor injuries, and have been evaluated by a doctor as soon as the flight landed at Karachi airport,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson further said, “The aircraft routine inspection and maintenance checks were completed on the same day. The return flight then took off and landed in Sharjah at ’21:37′ (Local Time) on February 28, 2017.”

“Air Arabia regrets the inconvenience caused and assures the safety of our passengers and crew remains Air Arabia’s highest priority,” the spokesperson said.
