Karachi Kings defeat Islamabad United by six wickets, qualify for play-offs

DUBAI: In a rain-reduced 15 over match yesterday, Karachi Kings defeated Islamabad United by six wickets, hence qualifying for playoffs of the Pakistan Super League 2017.

Islamabad United had already qualified for the playoffs earlier- however the result of this fixture was important to decide the fate of Lahore Qalandars who are now eliminated from the tournament.

Earlier, Islamabad United set a target of 124 runs for Karachi Kings after the match was reduced to 15 overs a side due to rain at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday night.

Karachi Kings reached the target at the loss of four wickets with 1 ball remaining. Chris Gayle scored quick-fire 44 runs off 17 balls —striking back-to-back three sixes.
