KARACHI: Renowned actor Nauman Ijaz will make his comeback in films with ‘Maidaan’ after a span of 19 years.
He will star in the first home production of TV actor, model and film producer Gohar Rasheed and Waqas Rizvi, under the banner of Shuffler Films.
Nauman will essay the role of a football coach who trained 12 street children for the ‘Street Child World Cup’ that took place in Brazil three years ago.
‘Maidaan’ will also star Gohar Rasheed and actress Ghana Ali in lead roles.
Nauman was last seen in Mehreen Jabbar’s ‘Ram Chand Pakistani.
While talking about the situation of film industry, Nauman said that films are not being made in Pakistan at the moment while the focus is only on TV dramas.
He pronounced that Pakistani film industry is following the footsteps of Bollywood due to which only rom-coms are being offered to him.
The actor suggested that Pakistan has to make films related to a different genre.
