Zubair for enhancing development-oriented activities in city

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair on Wednesday said that important measures would be taken to enhance economic and other development-oriented activities in Karachi.

Talking to a private news channel, he said all the development projects initiated and supported by the federal government would be completed on time, adding, that Karachi is the financial hub of the country and efforts would be made to bring investors to the city.

The governor said that the Pakistan Army, Rangers and law enforcement agencies had played a key role in restoring peace in the city.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took initiative and empowered the Rangers to launch the operation for restoring peace in the area, fulfilling the promise made to the people of Karachi regarding restoration of peace, he added.

The governor said that an attack on Sehwan Sharif was a tragic incident, and the prime minister had given special directions to provide best facilities to the injured.

Responding to a question, he said that the PML-N would sweep the next elections on the basis of performance and development works.

Zubair said a number of projects including the Greenline, water, Lyari Expressway, Circular Railway besides other development projects would be completed for the benefit of the people of Karachi.

All important steps would be taken to resolve the issues of business community, he concluded.

Governor seeks increase in the number of NFS&R projects

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has sought an increase in the number of National Food Security and Research (NFS&R) supported projects in the province.

In a meeting with NFS&R Federal Minister Sikander Hayat Bosan here on Wednesday, he said that food security coupled with the provision of quality edible items to the general public must be among the top priorities of both the federal and provincial governments.

The minister and governor on the occasion, discussed in detail, different measures adopted by the government to acquire self-reliance in terms of food with an equal focus towards its security and quality.

The governor regretted that a sufficient attention was not extended towards food quality during past several years, however, expressed his satisfaction that the current government was fully committed to the cause.
