Three facilitators of Charsadda suicide bombers arrested

Security forces on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three facilitators of the suicide bombers who tried to target the tehsil courts in Tangi area of Charsadda.

The facilitators were arrested from an adjacent area of Tangi tehsil and shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Earlier on Tuesday, Charssadda District Police Officer Sohail Khalid said that all three bombers who attacked a lower court in Tangi tehsil of Charsadda district were Uzbek nationals.

In a brief chat with reporters, the senior policeman said that investigation into the suicide bombing on the lower judiciary had been started on scientific lines and a considerable progress had been made.

He said four suspects had been arrested by the district police after the bombing on the lower court.

The suspects have been taken to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

The DPO said that three 9 mm pistols and five unexploded hand grenades had also been recovered from their possession. He maintained that the bombers had detonated five hand grenades during the attack.

Regional Police Officer, Ejaz Khan said that the bombers used 8-10 Kg of explosives during the assault on courts.

Seven people were killed and 22 others injured in a clash between police and the bombers on Tuesday that was claimed by the outlawed Jamaatul Ahrar, a breakaway faction of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
