Former Pakistan T20I captain Shahid Afridi attended International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy tour launch on Tuesday and accepted the role of the country’s ambassador for the tournament.

During its global tour, the trophy will visit 19 cities across all eight competing nations, allowing fans and supporters to look at the prestigious silverware.

At the launch ceremony in the United Arab Emirates, Afridi said, “The ICC Champions Trophy is an event which gives me and millions of Pakistan cricket supporters mixed feelings. It is the only ICC major tournament Pakistan has never won, but at the same time it is the only ICC event in which Pakistan has beaten India.
