MARDAN: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Mardan on Wednesday registered a First Information Report (FIR)  against a terrorist attack on a local court in Charsadda district.

The case has been registered under Anti-Terrorism Act, section 302 and other sections.

On the other hand, the investigation team has sent DNA samples of the suicide attackers to a laboratory for tests.

At least seven people including a lawyer were killed and around 20 were wounded when three terrorists carrying hand grenades and AK-47 assault rifles tried to enter the district and sessions court in Tangi Tehsil of Charsadda.

One attacker blew himself up outside the court while two were killed by policemen before they could enter the building.

On Wednesday, all educational institutions and business centres have been closed in the area while lawyers have boycotted the court proceedings across the province to protest against the incident.
