India beat Pakistan to reach final in ICC Women’s WC qualifiers

COLOMBO: Indian women’s cricket team advanced to the final of ICC World Cup Qualifiers after defeating Pakistan by seven wickets in Colombo on Sunday. However, Pakistan have qualified for Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 despite their defeat

India restricted Pakistan to a meagre 67 in 43.4 overs after electing to field first. The team then achieved the target in just 22.3 overs, scoring 70-3 to clinch victory which helped it top the Super 6 table.

Ekta Bisht grabbed five wickets, finishing with brilliant figures of 10-7-8-5.

Chasing a modest target, India rode on responsible knocks from Deepti Sharma (29 not out) and Harmanpreet Kaur (24) to reach the target with 165 balls to spare.

For Pakistan, Sadia Yousuf claimed two wickets by giving away 19 runs.
