A lecture on “Jurisprudence and the morality of law” was given in Lahore on Saturday at an event organised by the Chevening Alumni Association of Pakistan (CAAP) in collaboration with the Punjab Judicial Academy and the British High Commission.

The guest speaker at the event was Brunel University’s Law Professor Dr Javaid Rehman, an authority on international human rights law. The programme was conducted by Judicial Academy DG Uzma Chughtai and attended by 120 senior civil judges from Lahore, while judges from four other districts joined the conversation through a video link.

Acting British High Commissioner Richard Crowder said: “I am really pleased that the CAAP and the Judicial Academy have organised this debate today. Thanks to our people-to-people links and our shared history, the ties between British and Pakistani academia are significant.”
