Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Faisal Zahoor called an internal review meeting of all the vertical programs and other functional arms of the directorate here on Saturday. All the program managers were directed to review their annual development plan expenditure and future requirements for necessary action.
Dr Faisal desired to develop innovative health interventions to improve healthcare services in the province. Dengue seasonal response preparedness was discussed in detail. He directed staff refresher training sessions, increased surveillance, and the launch of a dengue awareness campaign.
The DG also reviewed the polio campaign in response to the polio case reported in Lodhran. Dr Faisal directed the improvement of routine EPI coverage, which is a prerequisite to polio eradication and a core requirement for maintaining immunity levels in children.
