LAHORE: The name of Jammat ud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed and one of his close aides, Qazi Kashif, have been included in the fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The name of the JuD chief has also been placed on the exit control list.

According to reports, the Federal Interior Ministry had directed the Counter terrorism Department (CTD) to “move and take necessary action” by adding the names of Hafiz Saeed and Qazi Kashif among the 1450 other fourth schedulers.

Three more men were also added to the list including Abdullah Obaid from Faisalabad, and Zafar Iqbal and Abdur Rehman Abid from the Markaz-i-Taiba, Muridke. The interior ministry described the 3 men as “active members of the Jamaatud Dawa and Falah-i-Insaniyat.”

The Interior Ministry has also asked the names of three men being transferred from Guantanamo prison to be added to the list, however no names other than those of the JuD members were revealed.

The development follows after a recent crackdown on the JuD in which Hafiz Saeed had been placed under house arrest, and the armed forces had supported the civilian government in their crackdown.
