Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani has said he will not run the House proceedings in future if the government and its ministers don’t attach importance to Senate.

When the turn of adjournment motions filed by senators Azam Swati and Sassi Palejo came in Senate on Friday whereby the US President Trump orders imposing travelling restricts on citizens of 7 Muslim countries were to be discussed then Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz was not present in the House.

Raza Rabbani while protesting over it said if the government continued to avoid giving any importance to Senate then he would not run Senate proceedings even if the president summons Senate. Or he would run the proceedings for a short time and then leave the house under protest, he added. Opposition benches staged a token walk-out against the absence of Sartaj Aziz from the House.
