A new documentary on Princess Diana is in the works with ABC, and it will be aired in August, on the 20th death anniversary of the late princess.
The documentary will have interviews from Diana’s closest friends, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
“Princess Diana has appeared on the cover of People 57 times — more than anyone in the history of the People brand. Our audience has an insatiable appetite for news about the royal family; in fact, the huge fascination remains today as when Lady Diana was first introduced to the world back in 1981” said People’s Editor-in-Chief Jess Cagle.
“Even 20 years after her untimely death, Princess Diana’s legacy continues to impact our world,” said ABC’s senior VP alternative series, specials and late night, Robert Mills.
“Our special will honour her memory and all the good that she did in her tragically brief life. Our partners at People are perfect to tell this story as they’ve extensively covered her life throughout the years.”
Princess Diana of Whales died on August 31, 1997, after a fatal car accident.
