Met office predicts rain in different parts over weekend

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) informed that another weather system is likely to approach Pakistan on Friday. Under the influence of this weather system, rain is predicted in different areas of the country during the weekend.

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA / FATA

Rain/thunderstorm is expected at a number of places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) from Friday evening to Sunday. Isolated heavy rain/snow over the hills is also expected in Malakand and Hazara divisions on Saturday and Sunday.

GILGIT-BALTISTAN / KASHMIR

Rain/ snowfall with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places from Friday to Monday.

PUNJAB / ISLAMABAD

Rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions) on Saturday and Sunday. Snowfall is also expected over the hills of Murree and Galliyat during the period.

BALOCHISTAN

Rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Northern Balochistan (Quetta, Kalat and Zhob divisions) on Friday and Saturday.

WEATHER IN NEXT 24 HOURS

According to the Met Office, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Quetta, Zhob divisions, upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas during the next 24 hours.

The lowest temperature that was recorded in Skardu at -13°C, Astore, Parachinar -05°C, Gupis, Malamjabba -04°C, Kalat, Bagrote -02°C, Mirkhani, Rawalakot and Hunza -01°C.
