Taxila university student among 2 killed in traffic incidents

RAWALPINDI: Two people were killed in different traffic incidents in the areas of Wah Cantt.

According to media reports, the victim identified as Abdul Qayyum, newspaper seller by profession was on the way while riding on a cycle when a speedy car hit him. As a result, he died on the spot while the car driver Najeeb Ullah tried to flee but enraged people thrashed him and handed him over to the police.

Meanwhile, a Taxila university third-year student, Muhammad Waris, was killed in a hit and run incident near Taxila Chowk, G T Road underpass.

He was on his way to the university on motorcycle when an unknown vehicle hit him near Taxila Chowk, G T Road underpass. He died on the spot while the driver managed to escape.

The Rescue 1122 reached the scene and shifted the body to civil hospital Taxila for medico- legal formalities.

The police have registered separate cases and launched an investigation.
