Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Pakistan Chief Farooq Sattar and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chief Syed Mustafa Kamal attended a seminar at Karachi University, where the two leaders were seen shaking hands.

The participants were surprised to see a brief moment of courtesy between the two politicians, who have been at loggerheads in the past. In what seemed to be a gesture to break the ice, Kamal offered his chair to Sattar.

The PSP chairman has made tough statements about Sattar and MQM Pakistan in the past, alleging ties between MQM Pakistan and its London-based faction.

“I can embrace him (Sattar) if you want,” Kamal said to the media, when a reporter requested the two leaders to shake hands again.

Addressing the seminar, former mayor of Karachi Mustafa Kamal said he spent three hundred billion on the city’s development and rehabilitation. “China Pakistan Economic Corridor could prove to be a game changer,” he said in a comment about the country’s economic development.

Farooq Sattar said they were not enemies politically as they lived in the same city and the same country.
