United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees’ (UNCHR) Country Representative Indrika Ratwatte called on Human Rights Additional Secretary In charge (ASI) Rabiya Javeri Agha here at the office of the ministry on Thursday.
He remained with the secretary for some time and discussed the matters of human rights, particularly the issues of Afghan refugees settled in Pakistan. Rabiya Agha apprised the country representative about the steps and initiatives taken for the protection and promotion of human rights, particularly the rights of women, children and minorities in the country.
Indrika Ratwatte appreciated the efforts of the incumbent government, especially the initiatives of the human rights ministry for the protection of human rights in Pakistan.
Human Rights Joint Secretary Humaira Azam was also present on the occasion.
