Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that he welcomes the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to audit his assets.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said that his assets were not kept hidden, as all the details are available on the PTI website which everyone can check. He said that the whole nation knows that his money is hard-earned.

Imran said that the ECP should have sent a notice to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well, because it is the responsibility of the commission to track down the assets of the premier spread around the world. He said that serious questions are being raised worldwide about the PM’s source of income and asset details.

He alleged that Nawaz Sharif was shying away from presenting his asset details before the Supreme Court, but he might provide the details to the commission. Imran said that ECP audit the assets of his ministers as well and bring the truth before the nation in this regard.

Meanwhile, the ECP has issued notices to 85 parliamentarians including Imran Khan, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Sheikh Rasheed for scrutiny of their asset details.
