Sindh Education Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that the government considering setting up a provincial curriculum authority aimed at quality teacher-training and moulding curriculum according to modern needs.
This he said while talking to Shehzad Roy the founder of Zindagi Trust here at his office on Monday, said a statement. On this occasion Education Schools Secretary Mustafa Jamal Syed, Additional Secretary Muhammad Soho and other officers were also present.
He said that provision of education and health was the responsibility of the government but the importance of private sector cannot be ignored. The founder of Zindagi Trust informed the minister that ZindagiTrust was interested to launch a training programme for public schools teachers as teachers play a key role in uplifting educational institutions.
Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar suggested that the curriculum should be project base so that the students might be able to cope with the circumstances in time to come into their practical life and for the purpose, the Sindh Education Department had taken many reputed institutions on board.
He was sure that getting education was the fundamental right of each child and to ensure this right was the responsibility of the state. While lauding the role of NGOs in promoting education the minister asked them to come forward and cooperate with the government to spread education in every part of Sindh.
Shehzad Roy informed that his NGO would provide training to 60 teachers in first phase and gradually its scope would be enhanced while teachers training institutions would also be made better.
