Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Ole Thonke met Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Monday to discuss matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations, and cooperation in different sectors.
The wind power project being set up in south Punjab with the cooperation of Danish company VESTAS, the Faisalabad waste water treatment project and cooperation in the health sector also came under discussion.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed upon the need to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries and hoped that the wind power project would be completed within the stipulated period. He said that a 6.7% tariff for the project would result in the provision of cheap electricity to consumers.
The chief minister added that Danish investors could benefit from the conducive economic environment that has been created in Punjab.
Provincial Minister for Housing Haroon Sultan Bukhari, the planning and development chairman, housing secretary, energy secretary, primary and secondary health secretary, CEO of the Punjab Investment Board, NTDC MD, and WASA MD Faisalabad were also present on the occasion.
