PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has asked the people in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to reaffirm their commitment to the Kashmir cause.

The governor said, “I take this opportunity to appeal the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to re-affirm their commitment to be ready for offering any sacrifice to uphold the cause of the people of Kashmir and make their long cherished dream of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialised”.

Iqbal Zafar said in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, “5th February marks the day of solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren. We as a nation share our feelings with the Kashmiris, who are struggling for the last 70 years to secure their right of self-determination”.

The governor also urged the international community to take a strong stance for the resolution of the issue.

The governor said that the ultimate goal is to enable the Kashmiris to achieve their goal of getting freedom.

Jhagra said, “This day carries special importance since a new wave of realisation on the Kashmir Issue is emerging internationally, and being the staunch supporters of the Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle and in comparatively closer proximity with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the people of the province attach special importance to the day”.

The governor also reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris.

“We as a nation must be conscious of the reality that ensuring complete unity and cohesion in our own ranks in this critical juncture of history will be a great source of strength to our Kashmiri brethren”, he concluded.
