A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan called on Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair at the Governor’s House here on Saturday.
The delegation included Dr Farooq Sattar, Aamir Khan, Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan and Faisal Subzwari. Matters pertaining to political activities, development projects, enhancement of economic activities in Karachi and other issues came up for discussion.
The governor said that his doors were open for all the political parties and that he would take them along. He further stated that there would be consultation with all the stakeholders for ensuring a lasting pace in the province.
Muhammad Zubair said that he has come here to cooperate rather than to compete with anyone and that he would be extending cooperation and assistance for the resolution of the problems of the people of the province.
He was of the view that every political party be allowed to continue its political activities. The governor said that Karachi was the economic hub of the country and any activity here has a direct impact on the economy of the country. He was of the view that efforts were needed to make Karachi a prominent destination globally for which the city has immense potential.
This, Muhammad Zubair added, would not only ensure rapid economic development but would also start a new era of prosperity.
