Health secretary pays surprise visit to Jinnah Hospital

Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah paid a surprise visit to Jinnah Hospital and took a round of various wards. He also inspected the cleanliness condition of washrooms.

The secretary directed that senior doctors should a round of the wards in the evening to discharge fully recovered patients. He said that healthy patients should not be kept waiting till the next morning for discharge from the hospital, adding that this would improve the availability of beds for patients.

Najam Ahmad Shah directed the administration of the hospital to come up with a plan for reducing bed occupancy rate within a week.

The secretary also said that seepage at the hospital had been an issue for a long time and would be resolved when the hospital is revamped.
