CIA to probe young man’s killing in Islamabad police shooting

ISLAMABAD: Police handed over probe of Taimur murder case to the Crime Investigation Agency  (CIA) on Saturday.

The CIA has constituted three teams for the arrest of culprits whereas the statement of Maheen, the girl in car alongside deceased Taimur, has also been recorded.

Investigation officers have granted permission to Maheen to leave for home but she would remain part of investigation till completion of interim challan.

Policemen allegedly involved in Taimur’s murder are still at large.

Sources also stated that policeman Samiullah, main accused in Taimur murder case, submitted gun in the police station while saying that he would be back in a while.

Taimur was fatally shot by policemen in Islamabad’s Sector I-10/1 in the early hours of Friday allegedly after failing to stop at a checkpoint.

The victim received at least one bullet injury to the head after the police opened fire on his vehicle.

A case was registered against the police officers at the Sabzi Mandi police station by Taimur’s brother. No arrests have been made so far.
