LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that everyone should play their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.
In his message on World Cancer Day, the CM said that the cases of cancer could be reduced only by effective awareness campaigns.
The CM said, “Through these awareness campaigns public could be equipped well with all necessary information related to this mortal infection”.
The chief minister said that the celebration of world cancer day globally targets misinformation, raises awareness, and reduces stigma. Timely identification, effective treatment and regular exercise could result in an escape from this disease as well-timed diagnosis is very essential for its effective handling, he added.
The government has been taking inconceivable steps for timely diagnosis and free medicines for cancer patients.
“Not only cancer patients but their family suffer as well nevertheless those providing ray of hope to cancer patients are rendering incredible services”, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif vowed to take multiple operative initiatives in this regard.
