Karachi police the other day released their monthly performance report which narrated that they had conducted 1888 raids, 77 encounters, arrested 49 criminals red-handed, exterminated 51 criminal groups, nabbed two extortionists, detained 19 involved in murder cases and killed 17 offenders in the first month of 2017.
Moreover, Karachi police nabbed 98 street crime criminals, arrested 498 on charges of possessing illegal weapons, arrested 26 wanted criminals, and detained 199 at-large suspects in January 2017. 2,380 persons on different charges were also taken into custody.
Likewise, police detained 532 persons involved in drug dealing from which it recovered 6,721-gram heroin, 185,666 gram of marijuana and 2041 bottles of alcohol.
The law enforcers recovered a huge cache of arms from miscreants which included 11 Kalashnikovs, 8 rifles, 3 repeaters, 12 revolvers, 3 daggers, 2 shotguns and 578 hand grenades.
