CM takes note of violation of rules in educators’ recruitment

Mudassrah Parveen, an orphan girl from Bhakkar, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Wednesday.

The chief minister expressed anger over the educators’ selection committee for not interviewing Mudassrah Parveen even though she had qualified the written test. He issued orders for the Bhakkar DCO to be demoted to an OSD and for the suspension of all members of the selection committee.

The chief minister also announced financial assistance of one million rupees for the girl and said that the Punjab government will provide every possible help to Mudassrah and her sisters. He said that the recruitment process of educators should be scrutinised and that the scrutiny should be started after adopting a comprehensive mechanism.

Shehbaz Sharif said that Mudassrah and other students should be interviewed again and that hiring should be done purely on merit. He said that a new selection committee should be constituted to conduct interviews again.

The chief minister said that it was very regrettable that the girl was called for an interview and then not interviewed, adding that in this matter the selection committee had violated merit. He said that the attitude of the former DCO Bhakkar was not fair and that the girl would be provided justice.

The chairman of the chief minister’s inspection team presented an investigation report into the matter.
