Healthcare system to be improved at all costs: CM

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif met a delegation led by Turkish Health Ministry Director General for the European Union and International Affairs Dr Oner Guner here on Sunday and exchanged views on improving the healthcare delivery system in Punjab.

Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the Turkish healthcare system was the best and that Turkey had improved it by introducing reforms.

“By benefitting from the Turkish model, we will also improve the healthcare delivery system in Punjab,” the chief minister said. “All possible efforts have been made to make the healthcare delivery system more efficient and effective, and we appreciate Turkish cooperation for improving the healthcare system in Punjab. With the cooperation of Turkey, the healthcare system in Punjab will soon meet the expectations of the people,” he added.

The CM said that the provision of medical facilities is the right of every individual, adding that he would leave no stone unturned to provide quality medical facilities to the people.

Dr Oner Guner said that cooperation will be provided at every level to the Punjab government for improving the healthcare system.

Officials of the Turkish Health Ministry, the additional chief secretary, health secretaries, and other relative authorities were also present on the occasion.
