ISLAMABAD: The volunteer teams on Sunday carried out cleanliness drives and safe sanitation awareness campaigns under the banner of Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Department.
According to GB Tourism Department officials, the campaign was started with an aim to create awareness among the tourists for a clean environment
The volunteer teams comprised of university and college students were part of the campaign and visited various tourist spots for the cleanliness campaigns in collaboration with the local people. The teams educated tourists as well as the locals about the importance of clean environment.
Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Agency (GB-EPA) has also taken many initiatives to ensure a pollution free and clean environment in the region.
