Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has cancelled his scheduled visit to Lahore Central Police Office due to security reasons.

The PM was scheduled to visit the central police office on Saturday to inaugurate the front desks established across the province to provide a proper environment to complainants at police stations.

Civil Lines Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Ali Raza was supervising the rehearsal when he found that some policemen were not following the standard operating procedure (SOP), and arrested them.

He also reprimanded Shahdara Town Station House Officer (SHO) Malik Mushtaq for arriving late on duty. An assistant sub-inspector posted at Istanbul Chowk was also suspended for violating security SOPs.
