The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) on Friday strongly denied the impression created by what it called some vested interests that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has been working for the interests of pharmaceutical companies.

A spokesperson for the PPMA referring to a media report said that the DRAP has its own mandate to regulate the health sector, including pharmaceutical medical devices and alternate medicine.

He said that certain lobbies having vested interests in the healthcare sector are busy are running a propaganda campaign against pharmaceutical companies to achieve their ulterior motives.

He appealed to the media not to pay attention to this propaganda and disinformation campaign.
